The first dry fit of the drawer frame (apron?) on the front legs for the stand-up desk:
From initial measurements and fit it appears that alignment with the dust cover will be perfect, or nearly so. I will find out when I do a dry fit of all the machined parts later this week. This is critical, as the dust cover also doubles as the drawer support structure.
In the meantime I will machine the ribs that go between the drawers, and behind the dividers on the frame; the ribs will ensure good support and bracing via wooden buttons, to prevent cupping of the slanted top.
If all is well I will mortise the legs, to accept the tenons on the front-to-back stretchers.
And the drawers? A little memory jog. You will remember I cut the drawer fronts from the same board I used for this front apron (drawer frame). I look forward to the drawers, too! I should be able to start making them next week.
