It is up and running. Check it out at http://hocktools.wordpress.com/. It currently has one entry, but we can all look forward to terrific content by a wonderful writer and craftsman.
In the About page to the blog, Ron explains:
Having written a book on sharpening for woodworkers (The Perfect Edge, the Ultimate Guide to Sharpening for Woodworkers) I feel it is now within my abilities to write an occasional bit about sharpening that may not have made it into the book either because it is just now coming to my attention (new products or techniques) or simply because I couldn’t fit everything into the book (try as I may have).
Sandy and I had a chance to visit with Ron and his wonderful wife, Linda, in Valley Forge, the night of our arrival, a full day before the Woodworking in America conference started. We had just finished dinner, Ron pulled up a chair, and Linda followed. I sensed how intensely Ron feels about this new book; and Linda is passionate about it, too. Their excitement translated into my desire to buy the book as soon as it becomes available, for it might be just the ticket to elevate my own sharpening abilities to new heights (I have a feeling it will).
If you missed Popular Woodworking’s interview with Ron, I invite you to read the blog entry. It will give you an idea of not only the kind of information you will find in the book, but also what you can expect in his new blog: Everything that did not make into the book!
Ron Hock’s new blog should be as exciting as his new book promises to be – and I, for one, look forward to reading both extensively!
