Someone knows their Americana

We have a winner! Nephita, in Brazil, South America, submitted the first correct answer as a Comment to the blog entry (several others came via e-mail, but I discarded them – the rules are the rules…). Congratulations, Nephita, and enjoy!  Please send me your mailing address, and the prizes will be on their way to you.

You can read the various entries at this link.

During an impromptu meeting at the Sloane-Stanley Museum, it was confirmed that the item on display, and the item later brought in by a visitor, are indeed meat grinders. You can read previous entries about (some of) the treasures at the Museum here.

Now, for the prizes. First up is Michael Dresdner’s The New Wood Finishing Book (a duplicate copy I bought, but which I already had as a gift from Sandy):

And from the collection on the wall in the shop, a Stanley N0. 165 marking gauge:

My thanks to all who entered and played. I had fun – and, from several comments I received via e-mail, several readers enjoyed it, too.
