It is a challenge to find presents for six granddaughters during the holidays. But Sandy found just the right thing when she bought this traditional building block set. This is the Noblesse set; reportedly available since 1860 in Germany, the kits were exported starting in 1910. They provide hours of wonderful design possibilities every time they come out of the box:
The challenge is always to put the blocks back in the box so they all fit properly and pieces don’t get lost. I cheated – I photographed the outer layer (there are two layers of blocks in the box), printed it, and asked one of our granddaughters to keep it in the box:
I always look forward to a session with the blocks. Would small shop-made toy vehicles have a place alongside these blocks?
