Right - the hot hide glue (&quot;trick&quot;) works quite nicely with much shorter boards. But I would not want to try it on a glue up this size. I did think about doing it with the Titebond hide glue (liquid at room temp.), which does wonders - VERY long open time, and compatible with all finishes. But I decided for the clamps. I hear that nicely jointed edges can be rubbed together with hot hide glue and not need any clamps. I&#039;ll have to try it sometime.
