Day 1 of this year’s conference came and went in the blink of an eye. I shot video of several sessions, and snapped a few photos during the some of sessions.
George Walker during one of his presentations โ this one is on using Dividers to lay out just about anything furniture:
In the next photo, The Schwarz is surrounded by avid woodworkers absorbing information he presented about honing straight or curved irons for hand planes:
In the Marketplace (an amazing gathering of tool makers), the new veneer saw from Tools for Working Wood:
In the next few weeks I will post edited video of the sessions I attend. For now, photos is all I have ready. Stand by for the videos!

Thanks, Al!
Looking forwards to the videos!
I may just get to WIA next year, I need to do that at least once..!
We’ll see…

It would be great if you could make it next year. The venue will likely be announced on the Popular Woodworking Magazine Editors’ blog. I will work on the videos – lots of work to do!
Hi Al.
As always it was good seeing you at WIA, looking forward to your vid posts. Thanks for all you do for us.
George,
What a treat to see you again, and at Woodworking in America, no less! I will be working on the videos. You are welcome!!!
Al,
I enjoyed sharing a table with you at the Friday night dinner and appreciate all of the information you provide on your web site.
Howard
Howard,
You are welcome – thanks for reading my writings. Sandy and I enjoyed sharing with everyone, too. It was a terrific time! I will be posting videos in the days and weeks to come.
Al,
I enjoyed George Walker’s presentations very much. He gives good insight into the historic basis of what ‘looks good’.
I also see a strong contrast in the design tools: dividers vs. SketchUp, and will be able to apply each after hearing talks at WWIA.
I must be one of the group who has difficulty walking and chewing gum at the same time, and did not make video or many photos, so I look forward to seeing results your efforts!!

Richard,
George’s knowledge is vast – and sometimes I do not manage to grasp the entire message at once. Thus, reviewing even a little bit of the edited video may help us reconstruct some of what we heard and saw ๐ I am floating every time I attend the conferences, as so much information comes in one ear. My notes are helpful much of the time. I sit and reconstruct many of the talks, and it helps a bunch.
I really wish I could have made it this year, it looks like you guys had lots of fun
“Terrific” just about covers it – lots of fun, and much learning!
Thanks for covering WIA again. I’m looking forward to seeing your videos. /Brian
You are welcome, Brian. I have several hours of video; I will start editing on my return home, and will start posting in the next week or so.
Maybe some day I’ll attend this conference. Until then, keep the photos and videos coming.
You will LOVE it, Jeff! I will do my best in the editing process, to give you a sense of all the happenings I covered.
