In the past I have posted non-woodworking topics, due to something special happening. This post is about something very, very special.
The bald eagle has returned from the very edge of extinction. For example, a 4-four word Google search yielded “…about 425,000 results…”, according to the search engine’s results page.
Today we can observe the live happenings with a pair of bald eagles and their new babies, on the Decorah Eagles live feed via the Internet on Ustream. It has been a fascinating event for me, as it is likely I will never in my lifetime have a chance to observe this live and in person. But this live feed more than makes up for it.
If you watch the feed long enough, you will see the farm surroundings, and also the eagle’s partner as it watches the nest and takes over caring for the new babies. Two babies have hatched, and a third egg is present in the nest.
Make sure to bookmark the web site, as the Decorah Eagles project promises more. Enjoy!
Note: The live feed will show ads occasionally. That is just part of the experience, and it is not of my doing.
