The safest place for a bird’s nest is where not many predators can reach it. On my way to the shop one morning I spotted it, on the West side of the old tractor shed:
I did not want to disturb the residents; I simply watched from the door to the shop:
I waited about a week, and then peeked, getting a little closer this time. Three baby robins in the nest, although only two were visible:
Finally two flew away – the last one left two days later. They left a mess on the wall:
Empty-nest syndrome all over again… I spotted one of the babies on a branch the next day, and their mother coaching one of them on the ground. Then, they flew into the trees, to play and fight with the others. They were free!
