    Hi Al!

I have the exact plane with the Hock blade and chip breaker, but it leaves the mouth too tight. Did you have to file yours in order to take a descent fluffy..?

    Nice finger joints!

Sorry for not replying sooner, Al, but R/L took over here for a while! Well.., …months..! I’m going for the Gramercy dovetail saw. I just like its smaller configuration and the research that went into this saw. I have not touched one yet, but it sure has touched me! LOL! So I’ll be paying Joel [...]

Very interesting journey into learning to hand cut dovetail joints, Al! I thoroughly enjoyed reading the articles you wrote! Mine are also improving. I use a Japanese saw but I’m getting to learn where to cut to minimize gaps and I am improving, which leaves a great feeling. I must admit that I was intimidated [...]

Thanks for those pointers, Al! For some reason the links to your articles do not work… :( Wow! That R & L is a BEAST! LOL! Pretty good looking, though! I was quite surprised that the LV outweighed the other saws that the Schwarz tested! I thought it looked kinda flimsy. Maybe it’s an optical [...]

I have a ’40′s – ’50′s ( I think!) English S & J dovetail saw with the “Superior” medallion in need of a good sharpening and set. While I have seen several S & J set tools some months ago in a hardware store here, they have since been removed from the shelves. It’s unlikely [...]

I would also like to see the process, if you don’t mind.

I have often wondered about it…

    LOL!

That is a pretty tray, Al..! But, I’d guess that it’s heavy. Heavy is not good when it comes to trays. Not that I’ve made any! LOL! How thick is that bottom for it to accommodate the inlaid tiles..? Checking out the link now! :) Edited: Ok, so the tiles were not inlaid, just glued [...]

I’m in..! As to the questions posed: 1. I would only use it on “quick & dirty” projects, like bird houses. It is uncomplicated and fast to achieve. 2. Screw and epoxy glue for outdoors projects, rather than just nail and glue. Mainly due to the rust factor here. End grain screwing needs all the [...]

Thanks, Al, but with the amount of re-sawing that I intend to do, this blade will probably last my lifetime..!

All I have to decide is the tpi. The one in their video was a 3 tpi, I believe. What is yours, Al..? Or do they only come in 3 tpi..?

WOW! I just checked out the Laguna Resaw King carbide blade on the video links you posted, Al..! That is just unbelieveable smoothness! And fast cutting too! I’ll definately have to upgrade. I’m not using my bandsaw to its full potential because of the crappy blade it came with. I’ll check out the local carbide [...]

    OK! It’s functioning now!

    Al, yer good, man!

    :)

I really am impressed with that blade!

    Hmmmmm..!

    Counting my tickeys..! LOL!

    :)

Don’t forget that I have to add the cost of 13,000 kilometers of postage to that blade as well..!

I still think it will be worth it!

    That is just AMAZING!
